Puttalam unrest creates new challenges for All Ceylon Jamiyathul Ullama (ACJU)

Omar Mohammed
Lankamuslim.com: The murder of the Puttalam police officer W.Navaratne Bandara by some unruly thugs was a much awaited opportunity for some racist individuals, contemptible media and petty politicians who used this opportunity and fanned the fires of racism.

The mainstream media showed off their un-professionalism by falsifying the actual incident and deliberately omitting key incidents. They misled the public to believe the actual culprits were the Muslim community not only in Puttalam but also in other areas such as Valachanai Irakkamam, Sammanthurai Pottuvil, Kinniya, Muthur and Kattankudy , Kalmunai. Muslims at Crossroads

leave a comment »

Omar Mohammed
Lankamuslim.com:The Muslim community in Sri Lanka has reached cross roads. The road they choose will define their fate. Will they lead the business community of Sri Lanka or will they fade off to be history.

We cannot blame others for our failures and for our declining knowledge of today’s business world or for the government for closing down the loop holes in the system. The Muslims have always stuck to the traditional business style, not adapting to the changes in the way business is done. Read the rest of this entry »

Develop the country with us not without us

leave a comment »

Omar Mohammed
Lankamuslim.com: For three decades we fought a war that drained our economy, destroyed our lives and saw the educated and talented leave this beautiful Island. The country nearly lost half of its size, which to some was a freedom struggle and to others a terrorist takeover. All communities suffered but did we learn our lesson? This war was started by these racist politicians, who had no integrity, self respect or discipline.

The war came to an end with a heavy price. All communities were united again. Things were getting back to normal with everyone pitching in to erase the bad memories of the war. But now we are experiencing a new kind of takeover. Read the rest of this entry »

Grease Yakka – Gossip or Facts

with one comment

Omar Mohammed
lankamuslim.com: With the mythical character coming into existence once again during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, all Sri Lankans’ are anxious. Like most others I myself turned a blind eye until it happened in our own remote fishing village.

I then engaged my self to the village gossip which my fellow villagers were eager to share. Some believe that this act is done by his Excellency the president whom they believe is suffering from cancer and therefore 3,000 women need to be sacrificed.

This piece of information seems illogical as his Excellency the president so far has proved to be one of the most intelligent rulers armed with a group of educated advisors and is less likely to follow this route as a cure for cancer. Read the rest of this entry »
