‘US flag-bearer of global terrorism’

Iran’s Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Reza Mir-Tajeddini has described the United States as the “flag-bearer” of global terrorism. Iran has well-founded documents of more than 100 acts of terror carried out by the US across the globe, Mir-Tajeddini said on Friday.

Mir-Tajeddini added that the US has always proved that it is a sponsor of terrorism, IRNA reported. Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei first revealed on Wednesday that Iran is in possession of 100 documents indicating US involvement in terrorist acts. Tayyip Erdogan’s mother passed away, may Allah have mercy on her

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un: A prayer took place at Istanbul’s Fatih Mosque on Saturday for Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s mother Tenzile Erdoğan who passed away on Friday. The prayer was attended by President Abdullah Gül, Parliament Speaker Cemil Çiçek, members of the cabinet, deputies and other dignitaries.

Tenzile Erdoğan had died of acute cholecystitis Friday morning at Medipol Hospital where she was receiving treatment for some time. She was hospitalized with stomach ache and high fever on Sept. 30. Read the rest of this entry »

Turkish Prime Minister may visit the Gaza Strip

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he may visit the Gaza Strip next week in conjunction with his scheduled visit to Cairo after talks with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

Turkey expelled Israel’s ambassador and senior Israeli diplomats and suspended military agreements on Friday, the day after it emerged a U.N. report said Israel had used unreasonable force in a raid on a Gaza-bound ship that killed nine Turks, Reuters reported.

FJP Leader Questions Validity of Peace Treaty With Israel Following Attacks,Demands Review

Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Chairman, Dr. Mohamed Morsy, met with SCAF and government officials Thursday, in a closed meeting to discuss Egypt’s response to the Israeli border attack last week.

Iran accuses Israel and US of assassinating scientist

Iran’s parliamentary speaker has accused Israel and the United States of assassinating a scientist with possible links to the country’s nuclear programme. Darioush Rezainejad’s death at the hands of motorcycle-riding gunmen prompted speculation that a violent and covert campaign to slow Iran’s development of nuclear materials was again underway.

Saudis want to personally interview maids

JEDDAH – More Saudi families now want to personally interview and hire their domestic workers to ensure they get trained workers and do not have to hire illegal housemaids, reports Saudi Gazette.

“Saudis now seem more cautious than before. They wish to interview their housemaids personally. It actually makes our work easier because our clients have to share the responsibility if their maids cheat them,” said Amer Muhammad, the manager of Al-Kuba recruitment company. More than 50 million eligible to vote in Turkey as ruling party seeks third straight term in office:Polls have opened in Turkey where more than 50 million Turks are eligible to cast their ballots to elect a new 550-seat parliament. Palestinian women stripped naked during provocative prison search

WEST BANK, (PIC)– Four Palestinian women detained at the Israeli HaSharon prison were stripped naked during a humiliating and provocative cell search, those women told the Ahrar prisoner studies center.

Azhar Slams Western Onslaught on Libya

Seven Palestinians killed by Israel last month

Six Palestinian citizens were killed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the Gaza Strip and another one was killed by extremist Jewish settlers in occupied Jerusalem last month. Israel killed most of these citizens during artillery or aerial attacks on different Gaza areas and one was shot dead by settlers on Helil street in the holy city.

Israel to build 120 more settlement units

The municipal council of al-Quds (Jerusalem) has approved the construction of 120 new illegal Israeli settler units in the occupied West Bank. The buildings, whose construction received the go-ahead on Monday, are to pop up in the settlement of Ramot in East al-Quds, AFP reported.

US: Afghan war costs $300mn per day

A report says that Washington spends $300 million of American taxpayers’ money on Afghan war per day, and this comes as the US has failed so far to establish security in the war-torn country.

This is while the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq will allow for a reduced US defense budget in 2012. Mubarak turns power over to military

Egypt’s vice president says Hosni Mubarak has handed power over to the high military council, despite millions-plus pro-democracy demonstrations. In a brief announcement, Omar Suleiman said on Friday that Mubarak had “abandoned the presidency,” handing over the power to the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which is headed by Defense Minister Gen. Israel plans to build 58,000 settler homes in occupied Jerusalem

GAZA, (PIC)– Gaza’s religious affairs ministry expressed concern over a project to build 58,000 Jewish settler homes in occupied Jerusalem by 2020. Meanwhile, Israel is announcing Jerusalem as the capital for Jewish people and allocating funds to attract Jews in a project dubbed Jerusalem 2020, the ministry said in a statement Monday.

The construction is aimed at pushing out Jerusalem’s Arab population and making it a holy city for the Jews, the ministry added. Mizan: IOF killed 14 Palestinians, wounded 38 last month
