The month of October has been announced as ‘Black October’ by the Northern Muslims. This black October represents and remarks the sad-full ethnic cleansing of Northern Muslims from their homelands in 1990. twenty two years gone since the expulsion of Northern Muslims, scars created in the life of northern Muslims still living in their heart. The LTTE which has attracted more Muslim cadres than any other tamil armed group, were the group who massacred thousands of Muslims in the east and expelled 75,000 Muslims from the North. Lankan’s arrest nothing to do with idol worship: Embassy
The Sri Lankan Embassy has rejected reports in Colombo claiming yesterday a Sri Lankan domestic worker has been arrested in Saudi Arabia for worshipping a statue of Lord Buddha.According to the Bodu Bala Senaa, a Buddhist organization based in Colombo, it was alleged the youth, identified as Premanath Pereralage Thungasiri, was arrested by Ummul Hamam police for worshipping the statue inside his home. Dambulla Kahiriya Jumma Mosque – Symbol of Muslims’ rights and dignity

It is almost a month and half since a mob brought in from outside the area, led by a Buddhist monk, and vandalized Dambulla Khairiya Jumma Mosque on Friday 20 April 2012 in violation of all laws of the country and all known human decency. The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) regrets the misinformation carried out by certain sections of the media on the statement made in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by our leader Al Sheik Rizwe Mufti. All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama President M.I.M. Rizvi Mufthi’s speech in Riyadh on Friday 4 May 2012 on the attack on the Dambulla Mosque has shocked the island’s Muslim community. For a moment I asked myself whether he has been dispatched by the mob leader Innamaluwa Sumangala Thera for canvassing in favour of demolishing the mosque.In his speech, published in the Jeddah based “arabnews” and reproduced in Sri Lankan dailies-Daily Mirror and Ceylon Today- on 7 May 2012, Rizvi Mufthi has called for resolving the Dambulla issue, imposed on the Muslim community by violence, amicably through tolerance and COMPROMISE.
