Muslims resettled at Musali areas in Mannar recently are very badly affected by the downpour experienced there at present.

The LTTE evicted Muslims resettled after 19 years and undergoing difficulties and hardships without electricity, lack of toilets and transport facilities are burdened with more difficulties due to the rain presently experienced in those areas.

Around 4,200 families were expelled from Musali in the year 1990 and that number has now been increased to more than 10,000 families. Out of the 1,526 families resettled so far, the government has resettled only 53 families and others went back to their places on their own and resettled there.
