Palestinians appeals Sri Lanka Muslims to vote for Mahinda Rajapaksa
Palestinians in and out of Palestine have extended an appeal to Muslims of Sri Lankato wholeheartedly support President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the forthcoming Presidential election.Palestinians have expressed their gratitude and the3ir sincere thanks to Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who for the last 40 years was fighting for the Palestinians.
Jamal Bawatneh, a former Minister of Muslim Affair and Wafq in an appeal to the Muslims of Sri Lanka writes, “During my visit to Sri Lanka this year to open the Yasser Arafat Mosque and Yasser Arafat Road in Belruwela, I was warmly received by President Rajapska and the people of Sri Lanka and I got the opportunity to understand his closeness to the ‘Palestinian Cause’, during the long discussion I had with him.In his appeal he further adds: During my stay in Sri Lanka I met a large number of Muslim leaders and it was their view that President Rajapaksa, is a close friend of the Muslims. He had done a lot to the Muslims specially to those who were displaced by the LTTE terrorists.
In conclusion Jamal Mohammed Baeatneh, in his appeal says: We are made to understand that President Rajapaksa is seeking a fresh term and I appeal to all my Muslim brothers and sisters and others who support the Palestinian Struggle to support him and make him the President of Sri Lanka once again.Given below the full text of the appeal mde by Jamal Mohammed Baeatneh Former Minister of Muslim Affairs and Waqf in Palestine to the Muslims of Sri Lanka:
