9,000 people leave welfare camps to enjoy freedom of movement

As many as 9,000 war-displaced Tamils living in welfare camps for the past six months have ventured out to make maximum use of the freedom of movement being granted to them from today (Dec. 01).

They have been given a letter, authorizing their movements, and asked to return within 15 days,said resettlement minister Risath Bathiudeen. Public transportation has been made available for them to make their journeys.
